DESCRIPTION:    

Provides training and application support throughout the Company service and parts areas to assist employees and customers in acquiring new skills or expertise on company products as well as training and learning on how to solve and eliminate identified problems.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience
  2. Demonstrated classroom teaching or training experience
  3. Mechanical experience/background preferred
  4. Verbal, written and interpersonal skills at strong levels in order to understand normal and technical conversations and conduct classroom and lab discussions
  5. Ability to transport audio-visual and related equipment and materials no more than 50 pounds
  6. Manual dexterity and agility sufficient to climb stairs and equipment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develop and present a variety of training programs to employees and customers in detailed hands-on and/or technical information sessions in basic, intermediate, or advanced level classes - Incorporate knowledge gained from factory classes, field experiences, and self-study into training sessions
  2. Travel to branches or other locations as required to perform assigned duties, maintaining a valid operator’s license
  3. Frequent overnight travel for consecutive days required
  4. Develop training outlines and determine best instructional methods to be used during the training session
  5. Review presentation materials such as videos, publications, or simulations for content used in classes
  6. Select or develop appropriate training aids such as demonstration models, multimedia programs or hand-out materials
  7. Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training
  8. Consult with department & branch management, employees & customers to determine skills & focus areas for training
  9. Maintain, control, and make recommendations for ordering training department service tooling to be used in classes
  10. Provide technical information to company departments, customers, and vocational schools as requested
  11. Foster teamwork throughout the Training Department through support of other members of the department when needed or requested
  12. When required, operate heavy equipment (e.g., dozers & loaders) to evaluate and troubleshoot mechanical problems or set up in conjunction with the teaching of classes
  13. Keep abreast of up-to-date system technologies from our suppliers to present to class participants.
  14. Maintains and updates files of information for future use and reference
  15. Operates audio visual and other multimedia equipment as necessary
  16. Serve as liaison between Whayne personnel and training contacts regarding training issues
  17. Recommend to manager ideas to improve the departments operating procedures or business practices and participate in and support continuous improvement of all related activities and processes
  18. Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude; comply with company dress code
  19. Follow all work, safety rules, and procedures
  20. Maintain a high degree of discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information and exercise initiative in all assigned areas, high integrity and accountability standards
  21. Assist work team to meet the objectives of the department and the Company
  22. Perform other duties as necessary and required
